worst luck. The very same problem has occurred. Back hunting through logs which have suggested a variety of solutions but none have worked. People whom have had similar error messages have had a variety of problems. I tried changing the baud rate in various text documents in the processing files, once in the preferences.text document and again in a boot.txt file as this was a commonly recorded fix. I then reinstalled the software and its plug-ins on a PC but this again had no effect. There is some movement in the RXTX Leds so it definitely reaches the board but fails to fully load. The Led attached to pin 13 also bleeps a few times as the boot loader retries the load. There has been some strange behaviour on my mac.
While some sketches running processing it corrupted my computer. Was getting problems running Premier which I had running simultaneously, and when ever i pressed a key on the keyboard it would continually reload the command until I quite the document or clicked out side the screen. For example if I pressed r it would go rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...... mmmmmmm not good. I am going to buy a new board tomorrow as this one belongs to the university and i wanted one for personal usage anyway.
I have now replaced my board with a Arduino Diecimila. It uploading again fine.
I am getting this message when I try and run the sketch for Bryan Chungs Jmyron sketches. I've tried reverting back to java 5 in the java preferences utility on a whim from a blog that said the serial library doesn't run on Java 6 or a 64 bit processing but that didn't seem to be the problem This was on Snow Leopard while I am running. It definitely seems to be some thing to do with the serial communication between Processing and the board.
